I first developed my love of design and textiles while working in the Fashion Industry as a Textile Designer.  Inspired by the prospect of designing interiors, I went on to study at New York School of Interior Design.  After the completion of my studies, I had the great fortune of working with several firms both large and small. I began my Interior Design career designing High-End Residences with a firm in NYC.  From there, I worked at a small Commercial and Hospitality Architecture and Design Firm in Greenwich, CT before landing at a larger firm in which I became part of the team that opened the NYC offices of JCJ Architecture.

In 2008, I moved to Rome, Italy, in order to expand my horizons by focusing on new creative avenues.  During my years in Italy, I learned photography, took a painting course, traveled to amazing destinations and immersed myself in the Italian culture.  By observing the Italian way of life, I learned to take the time to stop to smell "l'odore delle rose" and found art in everyday life. As a designer, I couldn’t help but be influenced by their innate sense of style and attention to creative detail, which I apply to my designs today.

Since returning, I have followed my passion for interior design by successfully completing several design projects which inevitably led to the opening of Julie Garman Interiors, LLC.  I have the capabilities to provide interior designs for residential, hospitality and commercial projects in the US and abroad. Committed to client service including close attention to detail, Julie Garman Interiors creates interiors that combine beauty with comfort resulting in a personalized space that is distinctively your own. 

My job as an interior designer is to bring out the best based on your taste and within your budget.  I believe it is very important to understand your needs and what you would like to accomplish.  Over the last 15 years, I have had the opportunity to work both across the United States and internationally.  This experience has fueled my understanding and appreciation for various tastes and cultures.  To me, the greatest reward is when you tell me how thrilled you are with the end results.
